BMS 220 Basic and Clinical Aspects of Stem Cell Biology
Spring 2009, 3 units

This course provides an overview of stem cell biology that integrates a description of basic concepts and technologies. Emphasis is on using stem cells to treat common human diseases such as diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer and practical limitations that must be overcome to achieve the goal of widespread therapeutic use.

Times: 8:30-10:00 a.m., Tuesday/Thursday; Discussion Sections Fridays, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
Location: Lectures - C-130. Discussions - N-517. All rooms are located on the Parnassus campus. The course will not be videoconferenced, but it will be taped and the videos will be available for viewing from the new course website.
